The lathe teaches patience through motion.
Bowl Turning introduces students to the fundamentals of turning functional forms on the lathe. Emphasis is placed on tool control, grain orientation, and safe, repeatable processes.
Students will move from rough blank to finished bowl while learning how wood behaves under rotation and edge pressure, and will take home a couple finished pieces.
You’ll learn to:
Mount and orient bowl blanks
Use turning tools safely and effectively
Understand grain in rotational work
Shape clean, balanced forms
Finish turned surfaces
Who it’s for: Beginner to intermediate turners looking to build confidence and control.
